We Indians need an Entrepreneurship capsule! We need the definitions of Entrepreneurship enclosed in a management course. We need a new phylosophy, a new phylosophy of Economics.
I think we are so entrenched with the concept of social service, we often mis-understood and built our society on the concepts which, I think are ill-conceived by many. For example, I was talking to my friend about a very good Ayurvedic doctor in my village. He is one among those who could produce juices out of a dry nut. He serviced at least 25 people a day and never took money from them. He lives his life in poverty and is a happy person. He is very skilled Doctor - no questions about that.
While his service is greatly appreciated, what I personally don't appreciate is the concept of free service for 25 people per day - many of them are frequent visitors. This great Doctor is building a culture where people are not careful enough! People don't think twice before going to a treatment. They are not responsible for their health - as there is this angel who can cure them if they fall sick! Even better, they don't have to pay for anything! Wow!
I think people got to be more responsible in society. Especially people with skills. The service doesn' come free. Don't provide your skills for free. This is not hard. The knowledge doesn't come free. I still remember many well read scholars in my village, who never charged a cent when people came to them for suggestions, knowledge.
Indian villages need a culture where services and knowledge should come with a fee. This is a new phylosophy of economy. We need more debate on this.
